The weekend just gone saw the Eliteserien reach its one third stage of the season, one third, blimey its gone quick so far!!! Let’s see what went on in Round Ten anyway:-

Saturday 20th May
Rosenborg 1 Lillestrom 1 Att: 18,947
Leaders Rosenborg dropped more points at home, this time to struggling Lillestrom, after the visitors scored inside the final ten minutes to earn a point. After a goalless first forty five minutes the hosts got their noses in front just before the hour mark when Nicklas Bendtner netted for the Trondheim side, however it wasn’t enough to take all three points as Frode Kippe levelled for the visitors nine minutes from time to see them claim a very good point at Lerkendal.

Sogndal 2 Brann 3 Att: 5,600
Brann claimed into second place and only a point off leaders Rosenborg after they netted three times in the last hour half to come from 2-0 down to defeat Sogndal at the Fosshaugane Campus. Eirik Schulze gave the hosts a tenth minute lead and when Per Magnus Steiring doubled their advantage just past the hour mark things looked good for the home side. However Brann immediately reduced the deficit through Kristoffer Barmen and then with eight minutes left saw Peter Orry Larsen net an equaliser. And then two minutes later Fredrik Haugen netted the winner for the Bergen side and see them take a dramatic win.

Hosts Sarpsborg claimed the three points in this derby game as they defeated Valerenga at the Sarpsborg Stadion and sit only a point behind leaders Rosenborg in third place. Sigurd Rosted put the hosts into a fourth minute lead and seven minutes before the break they increased their lead through Anders Trondsen and after seeing out the second period with no alarms took a welcome three points.

Hosts Aalesund continued their terrific start to the season after defeating Sandefjord at the Color Line Stadion. Kristiansund BK 3 Haugesund 2 Att: 3,392
A late winner from Jean Alassane Mendy saw Kristiansund BK go level with Haugesund and haul themselves out of the bottom three after they defeated the Rogaland side at the Kristiansund Stadion. After a goalless first half the hosts opened the scoring inside the first minute of the second period through Benjamin Stokke but the visitors levelled six minutes later through an own goal from Sean McDermott. Sondre Sorli restored the hosts lead on the hour mark but Haugesund fought back two minutes later through another own goal, this time from Dan Peter Ulvestad. However Mendy then netted with five minutes remaining to see the hosts claim a third Eliteserien victory.

Tromsø 1 Stromsgodset 1 Att: 3,299
Stromsgodset dropped into the bottom three after they drew at the Alfheim Stadion against Tromsø whom themselves broke into the top half of the table. The hosts saw Ulrik Yttergard Jenssen net just oast the half hour mark however the lead was wiped out just before the hour mark when Kristoffer Tokstad levelled for the visitors. No further goals meant a draw and a point a piece.

Odd 1 Molde 2 Att: 7,147
Molde climbed back into the top half after they netted a stoppage time winner at the Skagerak Arena in Skien against Odd to take all three points back up North. Fredrik Aursnes put the visitors ahead eight minutes into the second half but Odd thought they had rescued a point when Oliver Berg netted a 90th minute leveller, however Ruben Gabrielsen then netted in stoppage time to see Molde take a dramatic win and meant Odd slipped from second to fifth.

Stabæk 1 Viking 1 Att: 3,644
Viking were denied only their second win in ten league games after hosts Stabæk netted a late late leveller to snatch a point at Nadderud. Kwesi Appiah’s 42nd minute strike looked like it would get enough to take a massive win however Ohi Omoijuanfo netted a stoppage time equaliser to break Viking hearts and rescue a point for the home side.
